Rumour Has It

I hope everyone was aware that the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards was on ABC last night. Besides the Giants winning their game against the Packers, celebrities were also winning fashion and acting favors left and right. This year, I feel as if people tuned in just to see what everyone was wearing rather than who will take home the Best Actress, Actor, Motion Picture Award (besides the celebrities themselves). Ricky Gervais was once again asked to host the show, but I have to be honest on this one; he's not as funny and witty as he was like last year's award show.

Anyway, here's my best dressed list from last nights Golden Globes (in no particular order)

Michelle Williams: Won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical in "My Week with Marilyn". Who just doesn't love this woman? She looks amazing in the movie and on the red carpet! Though some may argue about her dress, I think she looks lovely in this Jason Wu frock. Everything is just right and nothing is overdone. The haircut and the smile is just so cute on her! Very indie indeed.

Jessica Chastain: Nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture in "The Help". I don't really know much about her other than playing Celia Foote in "The Help", but I have to say that she looks stunning in this dress by Givenchy. The dress is simple yet sophisticated with pearls as details.

Maria Menounos: I never thought I would be seeing yellow on the red carpet. For the most part yellow is a bit hard to blend into fashion unless you're just a fashion goddess and can pull any color off. Well, Maria Menounos isn't any other woman. The dress was made for her to wear. The updo and minimal jewelry makes this dress shine as bright as the sun!

Emma Stone: *le sigh* I am speechless by Emma. She turns heads wherever she goes and she's always on top with fashion! Her Lanvin dress looks so good on her and she looks very chic! Red is her color and she owns it.

Shailene Woodley: This Secret Life and The Descendants actress wowed me with this strapless Marchesa gown. It's age appropriate and gorgeous on her. However, it would've been even better if she accessorized a bit.

Top 5 Movies, I Would Like to See

A lot of new and really good movies came out at the end of 2011, and beginning of 2012 and I cannot wait to hit the movie theaters soon enough to enjoy each movie. This new year looks really promising in the movie business. All of the movie trailers I saw on TV or online have caught my attention without a doubt and I've got to say movies this year looks like they have quality content and plots...aside from "Man on the Ledge". Have you any of you seen the trailer for that? If you haven't or was not even aware about the movie, it's about this guy that just goes on a building ledge and plans to jump off while authorities tries to get to him off the ledge, but at the same time there's a heist that was going on..so basically he's a diversion. Short-story, it's dumb and I wouldn't pay money to see it. But anyway, here's my top 5 list of movies I would like to go see at the moment.

1. Beauty and the Beast 3D (In theaters now) - Need I say more?! This is a CLASSIC and I'm so happy that Disney is bringing back our old time favorite Disney classics to the big screen. I've been obsess with Beauty and the Beast since I first watched it. Now if only Disney could rush The Little Mermaid, my life would be complete!

2. Contraband (In theaters now) - This movie is just badass and Mark Wahlberg can still kick ass...

3. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (came out 2011) - Okay, so I'm not going to lie. I tried to read the book, but for some odd reason, I just couldn't stay focused and concentrate with what was going on. I always stop reading it at the same point every time I try to attemp finishing it. It might be because I'm just itching to get to the good parts and it takes awhile for it to come that I just get bored reading a bunch of details. Sooo, I hope the movie will be awesome and as good as the book (according to people). Maybe after watching the movie, I could get back to reading it...

4. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (came out 2011) - Homes and Dr. Watson are back in action! Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are back in solving cases, this time trying to outwit Professor Moriarty. Let's be honest, it's all about staring at how good looking Jude Law is...at least for me that is!

5. Iron Lady (In theaters now) - Oh Meryl, you never cease to amaze the crowd! This movie is about the portrayal of Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of the UK. This movie focuses on how she came into power and what she did to get to where she was. Meryl Streep is an amazaing actress and this movie shows that yes, women can kick ass out there!

Coffee Shop

11:41 AM over here and so far my day has been going well. My mom scored a job interview at one of the hospitals here in Miami. While she's over there, I'm sitting at a Starbucks nearby and it's absolutely relaxing minus the traffic that's going on beside me...Now I get why people would take a drive and just sit at a coffee shop for hours with their work or a book. People just leaves you alone here and min their own business, while you do your own thing...and this is why I love coffee shops.

She's been a great role model for me because she has this sense of propriety everywhere she goes and has a great sense of style. Above all, she never loses herself amidst all this publicity and especially now that she is a Duchess and wife of Prince William. I commend her in everything she does and I wish her prosperity and lots of babies in her future! We do need an heir to the throne ;) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

When listening to lovey-dovey songs or watching sappy movies like The Notebook, it immediately makes me emotional and love sick. There's just something about the whole idea of being in-love that makes me go weak in the knees and think about all those amazing stuff when you have that special someone in your heart. Unfortunately for me, I'll have to keep day-dreaming love since I don't have a special someone to enjoy it with.

Of course just when I'm writing this posts, "Falling In" by Lifehouse comes on Pandora and Adele's cover of "Love Song" by 311. And why does my eye keep twitching?

Retail Therapy

Two days ago, I went on a little shopping spree with my lovely mother around Miami. I have been meaning to show what I got, but have been occupied since then. Before I talk about the lovely items I have gotten, I would like to take up some space to tell you all that the New York Giants won their first playoff game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons (2-24)!!!! That means, my G-Men will be heading off to play Green Bay Packers and IF they win next Sunday, hello Super Bowl! I'm sorry to bore you about NFL, but I'm just so proud of the Giants for making it this far. BLEED BLUE <3

Okay, so back to telling you about my little retail therapy. I spent Friday shopping around town with my Mom. We've scored some lovely deals. Though the holidays are over, the sale just doesn't stop! I was hoping to score a couple of amazing pieces from H&M, but Miami seems to be lacking H&M's (I know!). However, not all stores were disappointing..especially Michael Kors! Too bad I didn't end up getting anything because I'm just so poor. The new collection of MK were all oh-so-pretty, especially with the new 2012 colors...*le sigh*

I love, love, love Betsey Johnson! So when I saw that Macy's were having her accessories on sale (50% off), I knew I just had to get one. This one can go well with any casual or dressy outfit. The mix of the pearls and the charms just gives this bracelet that girly look I love.

Found these two cute shoes at Aldo. I don't usually buy my shoes from here since the shoes can either be really pricey or they just don't fit very well. This time was an exception. Not only were they on sale, they are also the comfiest shoes I've found in that store. The first one has a bit of a wedge heel on them which makes them great to wear to work or to class. It's very comfortable to wear and the color can really match onto everything I have. The second pair is the same as well (no heels). I see a great future between me and these shoes for sure!

If you're looking to score more deals, then definitely head over to Old Navy. There are times when this store is really disappointing, but when we checked it out, it totally wasn't! It was perfect timing too because they were having this sale where almost most of their stuff were 75% off! I found a really comfy, navy blue sweater that I can just throw on - with a cute scarf - when I'm feeling lazy or just really cold, a beige polo shirt because I just love wearing polo shirts, and grey moccasins to give those UGG boots a rest once in a while.

As we all know, Victoria's Secret hosts one of their Semi-Annual Sale in the month of January. Who can't resist a sale at Vicky's Secret? I know I can't. The bag and the laptop case featured is not mine. I bought that for one of my best friends as a gift, but the yoga pants are mine. Though I didn't get as much as I would have from Victoria's Secret, it was still worth the trip. If any of you haven't gotten the chance to check out the sale (I'm not exactly sure how long the sale will go on), they had a lot of cute Love Pink merchandise on sale like yoga pants, sweaters, bags, bath and body lotions, mists, makeup, and underwear. I went crazy when I saw just how much of it was on sale. Though the prices have gone up, it's still worth it. I suggest you head on over there before it ends. If it did already end, there's always June you know?

California, Here We Come

Over the past few weeks since my winter break began, I have been watching 90210 nonstop. When I first saw a couple of episode when the series first began, I wasn't really into it and never really followed it. BUT, now that I have plenty of time to do nothing, I began watching the series again starting from season 1 and I've got to say that second time is a charm. I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED! Everything about the show is addicting - no matter how obvious and predictable the plot is. Of course, I have to say the original one is a bit better than the remake.
And so, this show has inspired me to start designing again. I want to embrace the whole beachy, laid-back, and relaxed clothing of the Californians. Hopefully, I get to post a couple of my designs by the end of the week.

New Year, New Slate...Hopefully!

Happy New Year ladies and gentlemen! 2011 has been a great year for me in every way. I couldn't be thankful enough in all the things that happened to me. I met a lot of great people in the past year and they are all very dear to me and as well as doing things I thought I would never do in my life! 2011 had also made me step out of my comfort zone. I became more aware about what's out there and that doing nothing about a problem or a situation is not going to get me anywhere. I just hope 2012 will be even greater not only in my social life, but as well as in my academics!

Anyway, since I've opened this account back in September 2011 I haven't really used it at all. My resolution for this year (besides keeping a healthy lifestyle), is to keep this blog updated most of the time. I lovee documenting my life through paper or electronically and so I hope to put in as much as I could about me 365 days (more or less). Now that my family moved to Florida, I hope this new state will bring a lot of fun like back in New York. It's just weird how I'm not spending my winter all bundled up...
